About the role
Teaching Assistant
Interested in working as a Teaching Assistant in Caerphilly within a specialist school supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Competitive weekly pay: £462.80 – £550 per week
Open to day-to-day supply or a long-term, full-time Teaching Assistant role?
Previous experience with learning difficulties or challenging behaviour?
Looking for a Monday to Friday education role with weekends free?
Then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
Vision for Education are working in partnership with a specialist school in Caerphilly, seeking a motivated and caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism (ASD) and a range of additional learning needs. Opportunities are available for both flexible supply work and long-term, full-time Teaching Assistant positions.
Ideally, you will have experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEN, or ALN, alongside a positive and professional approach to building strong relationships with students and staff. However, prior experience is not essential. A proactive attitude, patience, and willingness to learn are equally important for this Teaching Assistant role.
The school supports pupils with a primary diagnosis of Autism, many of whom have additional needs including ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, anxiety, mood disorders, challenging behaviour, Tourette syndrome, epilepsy, and related conditions.
As a Teaching Assistant in this Caerphilly-based specialist provision, you will support pupils with communication, personal care (including eating and toileting where required), and sensory regulation. You should be confident, resilient, and able to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
Although more demanding than some mainstream Teaching Assistant roles, the smaller class sizes allow for tailored support, stronger relationships, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ development and wellbeing.
Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, a graduate looking to start a career in education, or someone with a personal interest in SEN and ALN support, this role offers valuable experience and career progression opportunities within education in Caerphilly.
The school regularly offers long-term and permanent roles to successful candidates, making this an excellent opportunity for those seeking Teaching Assistant jobs in Caerphilly or SEN support roles in South Wales.
