The School and Role:
Vision for Education are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Bank Nursery Assistant for a wonderful nursery school in Eastbourne. This is a flexible, bank position to provide cover as required.
You will be expected to plan and provide an inclusive, caring and stimulating environment with exciting play opportunities that meet all children's developmental needs.
You will nurture and support children aged 0–4 while fostering their academic, personal and social growth. Working hours can vary between the nursery’s opening times of 07:30 to 18:00, depending on requirements. This specific cover is typically 9am–3pm, although longer shifts may be available.
The nursery is open all year round but can accommodate term-time only staff. You will be joining a very hard-working, dedicated and friendly team who are passionate about giving children the best start to their education by teaching them independence as well as teamwork.
This role requires you to be physically fit, able to work on your own initiative, and responsive to the needs of the children. There will be occasions requiring physical effort, including manual handling, lifting, changing and dressing children, as well as providing personal care.
The nursery is a large building and is very fortunate to have a spacious garden for each age group, which the children make full use of as they are often outdoors. If you enjoy being outside, playing in the sand and searching for bugs, while maintaining high-quality education for children, then this is the role for you.
The ideal Nursery Assistant will have:
- Level 3 in Early Years Childcare or equivalent (essential)
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the key principles of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Strong organisational skills
- Good understanding of Ofsted regulatory requirements
- An understanding of the Special Educational Needs (SEND) Code of Practice and the provision of an inclusive environment
- Knowledge and understanding of child protection and the Children’s Act 1989
- Previous experience working in a variety of settings
- The ability to build positive relationships with both staff and children
What we offer:
As a Nursery Assistant and part of our team, you will benefit from:
- Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system
- Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability)
- Social and networking events
- Pension contributions
- CPD to support your professional development
- Access to a dedicated consultant
