Vision for Education are seeking an experienced Youth Worker to work in a primary and secondary school that caters to students with Autism, Learning difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
About the role:
- The Youth Worker will be supporting young people with Special educational need’s on a one-to-one basis.
- Building a strong rapport with the student to encourage them to attend and thrive in school
- Following the guidance of the teacher but knowing the student well enough to deal with any conflicts
- Working 8:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday
- Working term time only for the full academic year
About the school:
- Located in Lancing
- Caters to students with moderate needs, learning difficulties and Social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Easily accessible with parking and public transport links.
- Supportive to staff, running CPD training and team meetings.
About you:
- A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications and more is desired but not required.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check on the update service*
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds
- A non-judgmental and caring approach
