We are currently looking for unqualified teaching assistants to work within Primary schools in the Market Deeping and the Peterborough area. The role will involve supporting children with additional needs on a small group or 1-1 basis. You will be required to assist children in accessing the work set by the class teacher, this will often involve working outside of the classroom environment and breaking tasks down to make them feel more acheivable. These children will often struggle with emotional regulation and need the support of an adult who is calm, reassuring and can help the child feel settled, safe and motivated. The successful candidate will have a positive mindset and be flexible and reliable in order to help ensure consistency for the pupils.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity for anyone who is looking to get into working in schools, particularly within SEND. You will undergo additional training courses within SEND, such as Behaviour Management and Special Needs Awareness to help give you the background knowledge and head start that is needed.
About the school
As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant you will be working from 8:15am - 15:30pm, Monday-Friday during term time. This is a full-time position.
To be considered for the role of Unqualified Teaching Assistant you will need:
- To be available for full-time work
- To have some experience of working with children
- To be able to drive and/or have access to a car (this school is not accesible by public transport)
- To be able to provide two references to support your recent employment
- To be able to provide full DBS clearance
- To hold GCSEs passes (Grade C/ Level 4) in Maths and English or equivalent
- To have a good rapport with children and be able to engage them in learning
- To have high expectations for pupils’ work and behaviour
- To have a genuine desire and passion to work with pupils with additional needs

Salary
£450 to £465 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- To hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one with us
- To undergo the additional training required
