Role Responsibilities

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 and small-group basis

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management

  • Helping pupils with literacy, numeracy, and emotional regulation

  • Supporting students with SEND, SEMH, autism, and additional learning needs

  • Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Building strong relationships with pupils and staff

Location & Hours

  • Locations: Secondary & Middle Schools across the North East

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Contract Types: Permanent, temporary, and supply roles available

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities

Requirements

To be considered for a Trainee Teaching Assistant role, you will:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with children and young people

  • Be patient, proactive, and reliable

  • Work well as part of a team

  • Have recent and relevant experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

  • Be willing to undertake training as part of our National Teaching Assistant Programme

Qualifications are desirable but not essential. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
