Hours 0830-3.30pm Monday- Friday.
This position will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the intention of becoming a permanentrole.
About the Role:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and sensory impairments.
- Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning strategies.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence in learning.
- Supporting students’ emotional wellbeing and social development.
- Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and learning materials.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, reporting to teachers and SEN staff.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to support pupil development.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Familiarity with different types of special educational needs and the educational approaches used to support them.
- Patience in managing challenging behaviour and helping students progress at their own pace.
- Voluntary or paid roles in educational or care settings may be considered.

About you:-
- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Previous work in a school, nursery, or educational setting supporting learning activities.
- Experience providing one-to-one or small group support to pupils who require additional help.
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to support students with challenging behaviour.
- Experience supporting children with communication difficulties, sensory needs, or learning disabilities.
- Ability to adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
- Experience working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, or support staff.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and promoting a safe learning environment.
- Able to obtain a DBS and provide relevant references
