Contract: Full-time / Long-term

Pay Rate: £92.56 -105.56 per day (depending on experience)

Vision for Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive 3–19 special needs school in the Newport area. This is an excellent opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional learning needs.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Newport, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs. Your role will be essential in helping pupils achieve their full potential in a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
Support the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom management
Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and follow safeguarding procedures
Support pupils with personal care needs where required

Requirements

Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (preferred)
A positive, patient, and resilient attitude
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, SEN Teaching Assistant, or equivalent are desirable
