About the role

Role: Primary Teaching Assistant – Ashton (Tameside) – Up to £500 per Week – April Start.

Location: Manchester, Tameside.

Start Date: April after Easter.

Contract: Long-term with Daily Opportunities available.

Salary: £450 – £500 per week (dependent on experience and scale point).

The School and Role

We are seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant in Tameside (Ashton) to join supportive and inclusive primary schools from April 2026. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a motivated Teaching Assistant (TA) who enjoys helping young learners grow in confidence and achieve their best in the classroom.

In this Primary TA role, you will work closely with the class teacher to support daily learning activities, assist pupils individually and in small groups, and help maintain an engaging and positive classroom environment. Your support will help pupils stay focused, develop key skills, and feel encouraged throughout the school day.

This role offers the chance to gain experience across welcoming schools while making a meaningful impact on children’s learning and development.


Requirements

To apply for this Primary Teaching Assistant job in Tameside, you should have:

  • Experience supporting pupils in a primary school setting or a relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant).
  • Confidence assisting children with classwork, 1:1 support, and small group learning activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with teachers, pupils, and wider school staff.
  • A positive attitude and genuine interest in supporting primary-age children’s progress and wellbeing.
  • A dependable and adaptable approach to supporting classroom routines and learning activities.
