Job start

Start as an ASC Support Worker in a specialist South Bristol school - no experience needed. Support pupils with complex autism and make a real difference every day.

About the role

ASC Support Worker – No Experience Required | South Bristol (Full-Time/Part-Time)

We’re looking for caring, reliable people to join a group of specialist schools in South Bristol as an ASC Support Worker. These schools support children and young people with complex Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and are well known locally for the way they put inclusion and individual needs first.

The schools run across multiple sites, covering both primary and secondary ages, and have built a strong reputation for creating calm, structured environments where pupils feel safe and understood.

You don’t need previous experience to become an ASC Support Worker - we’ll provide training and ongoing support. What matters most is your attitude, patience, and willingness to learn.

What the role involves:

As an ASC Support Worker, you’ll:

  • Work closely with pupils either 1:1 or in small groups
  • Support learning in a way that suits each child’s needs
  • Help with routines, transitions, and daily structure
  • Encourage communication, independence, and confidence
  • Use simple strategies to support sensory needs and behaviour
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

No two days are the same as an ASC Support Worker, but consistency and a calm approach are key.

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone patient, calm, and dependable
  • A genuine interest in working as an ASC Support Worker
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow guidance from school staff
  • Someone who can stay positive, even on challenging days
  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to get one)

What you’ll get:

  • Flexible full-time or part-time work in South Bristol
  • Training to help you succeed as an ASC Support Worker
  • Weekly pay (PAYE) and competitive rates
  • Experience in well-respected specialist schools
  • Opportunities to move into long-term roles or further training

If you’re thinking about a career in education or support work, becoming an ASC Support Worker is a great place to start. You’ll be making a real difference every day, even in the small moments.
