Vision for Education are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants in the Cardiff area.
About the role
Teaching Assistant Opportunity – Specialist School (Cardiff)
Interested in working as a teaching assistant within a specialist school supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs?
Competitive weekly pay: £445 – £510 per week
Open to day-to-day supply or a long-term, full-time role?
Previous experience with learning difficulties or challenging behaviour?
Looking for a Monday to Friday position with your weekends free?
Then this could be the perfect role for you!
Vision for Education are working in partnership with a specialist school in Cardiff, who are seeking a motivated and caring teaching assistant to join their team. Opportunities are available for both day-to-day supply and full-time placements.
Ideally, you will have experience supporting pupils with Autism, along with a positive approach to building strong relationships with students and staff. However, experience is not essential — a great attitude, patience, and a willingness to learn are just as important.
The pupils attend the school due to a diagnosis of Autism, with many having additional needs such as ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, learning disabilities, anxiety, mood disorders, disruptive behaviour disorders, Tourette syndrome, epilepsy, and related conditions.
You should feel confident supporting pupils who may need assistance with communication, eating, toileting, and sensory regulation. A resilient and proactive personality, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and positively, will be key.
Although the role can be more demanding than in mainstream settings, smaller class sizes mean you’ll have a real chance to build meaningful relationships and make a lasting difference in pupils’ lives.
Whether you have years of experience, a few months, or a personal connection to Autism and additional needs, we would love to hear from you.
The school regularly offers long-term opportunities to candidates who are a great fit — an excellent incentive to showcase your skills and commitment.
