Cover Supervisor (Full Time / Part Time Available)
Location: Hull, East Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role
Vision for Education are working in partnership with secondary schools across Hull to recruit confident and reliable Cover Supervisors. This role is ideal for graduates or individuals from a range of professional backgrounds who are considering a future career in teaching.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their learning. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and develop the skills needed for future teacher training.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, delivering set work
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Ensure students remain focused, engaged, and productive
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
• Support students with their learning where appropriate
• Contribute to a positive and safe learning environment

• Welcoming environments with supportive teaching staff
• Excellent stepping stone into teacher training routes such as PGCE or School Direct

Requirements

• A degree is desirable but not essential
• Experience working with young people (e.g. youth work, coaching, tutoring, care, or similar) is advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident classroom presence and ability to manage behaviour
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
