Classroom-Based Care Assistant – SEN School (Full-Time | From Care into Education)

Contract: Full-Time | Initial 3 Months (Temp to Perm Opportunity)

Vision for Education are recruiting for a Classroom-Based Care Assistant to work full-time in a complex needs SEN school.

This role is specifically designed for candidates with a background in care or support work who are looking to move into a school-based setting while continuing to use their hands-on care skills.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 3:45pm
Full-time only – long-term opportunity

About the Role

As a Classroom-Based Care Assistant, you will support students with complex needs, including:

• Autism (ASC)
• Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
• Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

Your role will include:

• Providing personal care (toileting, hygiene, feeding support)
• Supporting with moving and handling
• Assisting students with daily routines and classroom activities
• Offering 1:1 and small group support
• Helping students feel safe, comfortable and engaged

This is a hands-on role, very similar to care work, but within a school environment.

Essential Requirements

To apply, you must:

• Have recent experience in care or support work
• Be confident providing personal care and physical support
• Have experience with moving and handling
• Be available full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:45am – 3:45pm)
• Be looking for a long-term role (initial 3-month contract with permanent potential)
• Have a patient, resilient and caring approach
