- The school is in Birmingham, which is accessible by public transport.
- A primary school which provides an inclusive, and highly supportive environment for pupils with a range of SEND needs, with a primary diagnosis of Autism.
- Provides a highly nurturing, structured environment where each pupil receives tailored teaching, support, and care designed to help them thrive, academically, socially and emotionally.
About the Role
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and additional support staff to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports both academic progress and the personal development of all pupils.
- Provide consistent, targeted support to help meet each child’s individual needs, recognising their strengths and areas for development. Adapt approaches and resources where necessary to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Support pupils with communication needs by using appropriate strategies such as visual aids, alternative communication systems, or simplified language.
- Assist with sensory regulation by identifying triggers and implementing calming techniques or structured routines. Provide personal care support with dignity and respect, ensuring pupils always feel safe.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
- Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools are desired but not essential.
- Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
