Care Assistant - Stourbridge - SEND

About the role

Vision for Educationis seeking an experienced Care Assistant to work in an SEN School in Stourbridge on a full-time basis.

Hours 0830-3.30 Monday – Friday

This role is offered on a temporary basis to start, with a view to becoming a permanent role thereafter.

It would be advantageous to be a driver for this role due to location.


About the Role

  • As a Care Assistant your role will be to help support children with complex physical and medical needs and associated communication and learning needs.
  • You need to be a pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable care assistant to join the team.
  • This position would be to work with children across the primary and secondary age range.
  • You will support pupils with their day-to-day personal care needs and work alongside other professional staff to further pupils’ personal independence skills.


About the school

  • Providing education and care for young children and young people from the ages of 6-19 with a variety of social, emotional, physical and learning difficulties, including autism and visual impairment.
  • The school is set in beautiful surroundings and encourages children and young adults to flourish in a nurturing and caring environment with an emphasis on outdoor learning as well as in a classroom setting.
  • All students receive personal Social and Health Education and those of secondary age receive careers advise and guidance by supportive and caring staff.
  • The overall aim of the school is to prepare young people for life and to achieve the best possible outcome for students


About you

To be considered for the role of Children’s Care Assistant you will:

  • Provide practical assistance in relation to other identified physical needs e.g. mealtimes, organisation of learning equipment.
  • Recording and reporting on care needs.
  • Assisting pupils in implementing their own personal care programmes during the school day, specifically in relation to practical support for; personal hygiene; toileting and continence training; and eating and drinking.
  • Have experience in a similar role.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service.
