We're looking for a PMLD Learning Support Assistant to work in a variety of specialist schools across North Bristol, supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and a range of additional needs.

About the Role

As a PMLD Learning Support Assistant, your role will include:

• Supporting students with complex physical, medical, and sensory needs, including personal care and mobility assistance.

• Assisting the class teacher and wider support team in delivering a tailored, accessible curriculum.

• Creating a safe, stimulating classroom environment where students can thrive.

• Building meaningful relationships with students to support their emotional wellbeing and learning progress.

• Using specialist equipment and communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory aids) as needed.

About the School(s)

We work with a range of SEND schools and provisions in North Bristol that support pupils with:

• PMLD, MLD, ASD, ADHD, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and SEMH needs

• A variety of age groups (typically 4–19)

• A strong emphasis on teamwork, inclusivity, and individualised support

• Excellent on-site facilities and professional support for staff

✅ Requirements

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• A positive, nurturing, and empathetic approach to working with SEND pupils

• Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive attitude

• Ideally, access to your own transport or strong public transport links

• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
