A respected cluster of Welsh medium primary schools in Cwmbran is seeking a dedicated Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time role offers the chance to support pupils across the primary age range while contributing to warm, inclusive and forward-thinking school communities.

If you are a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting young learners and want to work with an education agency recognised by the Welsh Government, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career.

What you'll do

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils engage confidently in the classroom.

  • Assist class teachers with daily tasks and lesson preparation.

  • Supervise pupils during lunchtime and transitions.

  • Carry out general administrative duties as required.

  • Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning.

  • Work closely with staff across the cluster to maintain a positive, supportive environment.

What we look for in you

  • Fluent Welsh speaker, essential for working within Welsh medium primary settings.

  • Enthusiastic and committed to supporting primary-aged pupils.

  • Experience working with children or young people.

  • Confident managing behaviour in a calm and consistent way.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A good general level of education, including GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.

  • Confident using IT to support learning and administrative tasks.
