Vision for Education are recruiting a Trainee Youth Worker to work in a specialist school setting in Chippenham. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to gain hands on experience working with pupils who have additional needs.

About the role
• Working as a Trainee Youth Worker supporting children and young people who need extra emotional and behavioural support
• Building positive, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and engaged in school
• Supporting pupils with autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs
• Helping pupils manage behaviour, emotions, and daily routines
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff throughout the school day
• Knowing pupils well enough to respond calmly to challenging situations
• Full time, term time only
• Working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm

• Supports pupils aged 11 to 16 with additional needs

• Supportive staff team with regular training and team meetings

About you
• Interested in becoming a Youth Worker and supporting young people
• Calm, patient and non judgemental approach
• Experience with challenging behaviour or young people is helpful but not essential
• Relevant Level 3 qualifications are desirable but not required
• Able to provide references and willing to apply for an enhanced DBS check
