About the role

Teaching Assistant – East Riding (Start: January)

Vision for Education
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential? Are you considering a career in teaching and looking for hands-on classroom experience? Vision for Education is seeking dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistants to work across a range of East Riding secondary schools from January. This is an ideal opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants to take their first step into the education sector.

About the Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will support students and teachers to ensure high-quality learning takes place. Your responsibilities will include: providing targeted support to pupils in lessons; assisting with classroom activities and resources; helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment; supporting students with additional needs, either one-to-one or in small groups; working closely with teachers to deliver differentiated learning; and contributing to the wider school community when required. You will play an essential role in helping pupils stay engaged, make progress and develop confidence in their learning.

What We’re Looking For
We would love to hear from you if you have: strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to build positive relationships with young people; patience, resilience and a supportive approach; good teamwork skills and the flexibility to work across different subjects; a genuine passion for education and helping students succeed; and ideally experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential). Full training and ongoing support are provided.

Why Choose Vision for Education?
Competitive daily rates of pay; flexible work options including ad hoc, part-time or full-time roles; long-term and fixed-term placements available; an excellent route into teacher training with valuable classroom experience; dedicated consultant support; and access to free CPD including behaviour management, safeguarding and SEN training. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference in the lives of young people every day.

Safeguarding Statement
Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, suitable references and all relevant safeguarding checks.
If you’re ready to start a rewarding role in education and support pupils across East Riding secondary schools, apply today to join Vision for Education.
