Looking for a rewarding teaching role? Support pupils with complex needs in BS13 while enjoying flexible work and a clear pathway into permanent positions.

About the role

About the Role

Vision for Education are recruiting passionate and dedicated Teachers to support children and young people with complex needs in specialist settings across the BS13 area.

This role is offered on a 0-hour contract, providing flexibility to suit your availability, with strong opportunities to progress into long-term and permanent positions.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, SEMH, communication difficulties, and learning disabilities. Whether you are an experienced SEND Teacher or looking to transition into specialist education, we can support you in finding the right role.

As a Teacher supporting students with complex needs, you may:

  • Plan and deliver adapted, personalised lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with a range of complex needs, ensuring access to a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Use a variety of specialist strategies and approaches (e.g. sensory learning, communication aids, structured routines)
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff
  • Contribute to and follow EHCP targets and individual learning plans
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and professionals

Assignments can range from short-term cover to long-term placements, with opportunities to move into permanent roles within specialist provisions.

Flexible Work to Suit You

We offer Teachers:

  • Day-to-day supply for flexibility
  • Short-term placements to gain experience in specialist settings
  • Long-term roles with full teaching responsibilities
  • Opportunities within SEND schools and alternative provisions
  • Pathways into permanent specialist education roles

You choose when and where you work, allowing you to maintain control of your schedule.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have a passion for supporting pupils with complex needs
  • Be patient, resilient, and adaptable in challenging yet rewarding environments
  • Have strong communication and behaviour support skills
  • Be confident working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one

Experience in SEND or specialist settings is highly desirable, but not essential for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

What We Offer

  • Competitive daily rates, paid weekly via PAYE
  • Flexible working to suit your lifestyle
  • Access to a dedicated consultant with SEND expertise
  • FREE specialist training and professional development
  • Pension contributions (subject to qualifying period)
  • Refer-a-friend bonus scheme
  • Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles

Why Work With Us?

We work in partnership with a wide network of specialist schools and provisions across BS30, offering consistent work and career progression opportunities within SEND education.

Whether you are looking to build experience in specialist settings, transition into SEND, or continue your career supporting pupils with complex needs, we are here to support you.
