Vision for Education are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants.

About the role

SEN Teaching Assistant

Interested in working as a teaching assistant in a specialist school in Cwmbran, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs?
Excellent rate of pay £444.60 – £509.60 per week
Available for day-to-day supply or looking for a full-time role?
Previous experience supporting children with learning difficulties or challenging behaviour?
Searching for a Monday to Friday position with weekends off?

Then this could be the role for you!

Vision for Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Cwmbran who are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teaching assistant. Opportunities are available for both short-term supply work and long-term or full-time placements.

Ideally, you will have experience supporting pupils with Autism and be confident building positive relationships with both students and staff. However, previous experience is not essential. A positive attitude, patience, and willingness to learn are highly valued.

The pupils attend the school due to a diagnosis of Autism, with many presenting additional needs including ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, learning disabilities, anxiety, Tourette syndrome, epilepsy, and behavioural challenges.

You will be required to support pupils who may have difficulties with communication, emotional regulation, eating, toileting, and sensory needs. A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour is essential.

While the role can be more demanding than working in a mainstream school, smaller class sizes allow you to build strong relationships and have a meaningful impact on each child’s learning and development.

Whether you have extensive experience, are new to SEN education, or have a personal connection to Autism, we encourage you to apply.

The school has a history of offering long-term opportunities to staff who demonstrate commitment and capability, making this a great chance to develop your career.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Approved supplier for Wales and government-backed agency

  • Full-time and part-time roles available

  • Flexible working patterns

  • Excellent weekly pay £444.60 – £509.60

  • Ongoing CPD and training opportunities

  • Dedicated personal consultant to support you throughout the process

  • No hidden admin fees

  • Pension scheme and holiday pay

  • Guaranteed work schemes available

If you are interested, please contact Chris Hancock using the number below or submit your CV for consideration.

We look forward to hearing from you
