Vision for Education are recruiting for a forward-thinking, nurturing SEN School in Barrow-in-Furness to recruit a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to start in March 2026 on a full-time, long-term temporary basis.

Vision for Education is proud to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking, nurturing SEN School in Barrow-in-Furness to recruit a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalised education to students with complex learning needs, including autism and challenging behaviours. You will be instrumental in shaping a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes growth, engagement, and success for each young person.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and assess lessons tailored to individual student needs.

  • Develop and implement EHCPs and Behaviour Support Plans.

  • Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and care staff to ensure a consistent, multi-professional approach.

  • Foster a safe, respectful and nurturing classroom environment.

  • Communicate regularly with families, carers, and external professionals.

  • Promote students' social, emotional, and academic development in line with the School Development Plan and regulatory standards.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, particularly autism and/or SEMH
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and student-centred approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to adapt teaching to suit individual learning styles and EHCP targets
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
