Could You Be the Difference in a Child's School Day?

1:1 SEN Behaviour Mentor - Immediate Start
Full-Time | Term-Time | Competitive Weekly Pay

About the role

Do you have the patience, resilience, and compassion to support a pupil who needs more than just lessons to thrive?

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Behaviour Mentor to work with a pupil who requires tailored emotional and behavioural support within a school setting. If you're passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's life, this role offers a rare opportunity to have a lasting impact, each and every day.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Support a pupil with SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) or behavioural challenges.

  • Build a trusting, consistent relationship that provides stability and promotes positive change.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement individualised support strategies.

  • Help re-engage the pupil in their learning through encouragement, structure, and emotional support.

  • Create a safe, calm, and inclusive environment where the child feels seen, heard, and valued.

This is more than just classroom support, it’s about showing up for a child who needs someone in their corner.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural challenges (formal or informal).

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A genuine passion for inclusion and improving young lives.

Essential Requirements

  • Availability to work full-time during school hours (term time).

  • Willingness to work 1:1 with a pupil who requires behavioural and emotional support.

  • Understanding of or willingness to learn school safeguarding and behaviour policies.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Right to work in the UK.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive daily pay, paid weekly through PAYE.

  • Access to free training and CPD, including behaviour strategies and safeguarding.

  • A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.

  • Opportunities to trial school settings before committing to longer-term roles.

  • The chance to genuinely change the trajectory of a young person’s educational journey.
