Pay Rate: £88.92 – £101.92 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role

As a Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant in Torfaen, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to support pupils across the curriculum, delivering learning support through the medium of Welsh. You may work with individuals or small groups, supporting pupils with additional learning needs and helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group classroom support through the medium of Welsh
Support pupils’ learning, language development, and confidence
Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, preparation, and behaviour management
Promote independence, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
Support individual learning plans and follow safeguarding procedures

Requirements

Fluent or confident Welsh language skills (essential)
Experience working with children or young people (education setting preferred)
A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
