SEMH Teaching Assistant | North Bristol (Primary School) – Full-Time/Part-Time
Are you passionate about making a difference for children who face emotional, social, or behavioural challenges? Our North Bristol primary school is looking for caring and patient SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a dedicated team supporting pupils with SEMH needs, ACEs, and complex trauma backgrounds.
We are a school that puts wellbeing, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice at the heart of everything we do. You’ll help create a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels understood, supported, and able to thrive.
What You’ll Do:
- Work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist with structured learning activities, daily routines, and emotional regulation strategies
- Use trauma-informed approaches to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and social development
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to deliver personalised support plans
- Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils and staff
We’re Looking For:
- Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH and ACEs
- Willingness to learn and use trauma-informed practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
