About the role

Primary Teaching Assistant (TA / SEN TA / 1:1 Support) – Flexible Work in Stoke

Vision for Education are currently recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants, SEN TAs, and 1:1 Support staff to work across a range of primary schools and nurseries in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

If you’ve supported children in a classroom or nursery setting and want flexible, consistent work with supportive schools, this is for you.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
  • Deliver 1:1 or small group interventions (including SEN support)
  • Help manage behaviour and keep pupils engaged in learning
  • Adapt tasks to suit different ability levels and learning needs
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

Work options available:

  • Day-to-day cover
  • Short-term placements
  • Long-term roles (including potential temp-to-perm)

The Schools

You’ll be working with:

  • Welcoming primary schools and nurseries across Stoke
  • Strong leadership teams who value support staff
  • Settings focused on inclusion, behaviour support, and pupil progress
  • Teams where TAs are treated as key members of staff (not just extra hands)

Requirements

To be considered, you should:

  • Have experience working with children (school, nursery, or similar)
  • Be confident supporting behaviour and engagement
  • Have experience with SEN, 1:1, or intervention work (desirable but not essential)
  • Hold a DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Be reliable, adaptable, and professional

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive daily rates (PAYE, paid weekly)
  • Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to criteria)
  • Pension contributions
  • Full AWR compliance
  • FREE CPD training (including safeguarding)
  • Refer-a-friend bonus scheme
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
