About the Role

As a primary/nursery teaching assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across the primary/nursery curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help children meet learning objectives.
  • Promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour within the classroom.
  • Assist in preparing resources and adapting activities to support different learning needs.
  • Help create an inclusive, encouraging, and safe learning environment for all pupils.

This primary teaching assistant role offers flexibility, with day-to-day, short-term, and long-term opportunities across Stoke and surrounding areas.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of primary/nursery teaching assistant, you will:

  • Have experience supporting children within a school or similar setting.
  • Hold a relevant qualification or demonstrate practical classroom experience.
  • Be confident in supporting behaviour and encouraging positive outcomes.
  • Possess a DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Be patient, adaptable, and committed to helping all pupils succeed.
  • Have experience working with children of primary/nursery age.
