About the role

SEND Resource Base Learning Support Mentor – Bristol

Long-term role | Full-time (term-time) | Immediate start available

We’re looking for a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Resource Base. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a supportive environment and genuinely enjoys helping children with complex or emerging needs engage, progress and feel safe in school.

In this role, you’ll be part of a small team delivering tailored learning activities, supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, and helping to create a calm, engaging and curiosity-led environment. You’ll play an active role in daily observations, recording progress using digital tools, and supporting pupils with both learning and care needs.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about SEND, keen to build their skills, and ready to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEND
• Be warm, patient, and confident in adapting to individual needs
• Communicate clearly and positively with both children and adults
• Feel comfortable using an iPad or digital tools for observations
• Bring a fun, enthusiastic and team-focused attitude
• Be committed to inclusion, wellbeing and helping every child feel valued

Role Requirements:

• Full-time availability during school hours
• Experience supporting primary-aged children (SEN experience preferred but not essential)
• Willingness to support both learning and care routines
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK

Why Apply:

• Competitive daily pay, paid weekly
• Supportive senior team and friendly staff environment
• Opportunities for ongoing CPD and skill development
• A chance to gain hands-on experience within a specialist provision
• Dedicated agency consultant support throughout your placement

If you’re looking for a role where you can help children feel safe, understood and excited to learn, this could be the perfect next step.

Apply today and take the first step towards making a real impact in a specialist primary setting.
