Learning Support Assistant – SEND

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs? Vision for Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEND provision in Swindon to offer a supported pathway into education. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain paid, hands-on experience in a well-established specialist setting, with full training provided before you start.
This role is ideal for anyone considering a long-term career in SEND, education, youth work or care.
About the role

Learning Support Assistant working on a supply basis within a specialist SEND school

Supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including SEMH, autism and communication difficulties

Providing 1:1 support, small group work and in-class assistance

Helping pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and building positive routines
-
Working within a structured, nurturing environment that focuses on consistency and relationship-building
-
Term-time only, with a mixture of short-term and longer-term placements available
This setting supports pupils who benefit from smaller class sizes, clear boundaries and strong pastoral care. Staff work closely together to create a safe, supportive space where students can rebuild confidence and thrive.
Training and support

Fully funded pre-placement training provided

Ongoing CPD and mentoring while in role

Paid placements arranged following a successful interview and compliance checks

Continued support from a dedicated consultant throughout your journey
We’re looking for people with the right attitude and commitment — experience in care, youth work, coaching or support work is welcomed but not essential.
