About the Role
Vision for Education are recruiting an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Thornbury.

This KS2 Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone with strong Key Stage 2 experience who is confident supporting pupils across Years 3–6. As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils stay engaged, make progress, and feel supported throughout their learning journey.

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2

• Delivering small group interventions in core subjects such as English and Maths

• Providing targeted 1:1 support

• Assisting with SATs preparation and booster sessions

• Supporting pupils with a range of abilities, including those with SEND

• Managing low-level behaviour confidently and positively

• Preparing classroom resources and supporting daily routines

• Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive learning attitudes

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident and proactive KS2 Teaching Assistant who:

• Has recent experience working as a KS2 Teaching Assistant or supporting within KS2

• Has a good understanding of the KS2 curriculum

• Is confident delivering small group interventions as a KS2 Teaching Assistant

• Can support pupils of mixed abilities

• Has strong behaviour management skills

• Is reliable, adaptable, and professional

• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
