Role: House Leader – Secondary School
Location: Poole
Working Hours: Full-time (8:00am – 4:00pm)
Start Date: January 2026

About the role:
Based in Poole, The House Leader role is responsible for ensuring the safety, behaviour, and wellbeing of students within their house. They lead on pastoral care, promote positive behaviour and attendance, and build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. They support students’ academic and social development, manage behaviour strategies, and foster a safe and inclusive environment that aligns with the school's values.

Key Responsibilities:
⭐ Support the Head of House in providing care, guidance, and motivation
⭐ Foster a supportive environment where students feel valued and safe.

⭐ Lead on behaviour management, safeguarding, and maintaining high standards
⭐ Monitor attendance, behaviour, and progress; implement improvement strategies
⭐ Liaise with parents, external agencies, and organise house activities and assemblies
⭐ Supervise on-duty periods, detentions, and new student admissions

⭐ Support student councils and promote community activities

⭐ Assist with pastoral and academic reviews, record-keeping, and reports.

⭐ Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and external bodies

What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children
Valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Patience, creativity, and a caring nature
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
