Support Worker – SEN Schools (Varied Needs)

Full-Time Part Time | Long-Term Short Term | Driver Preffered but not essential | Swansea & Surrounding Areas

A full UK driving licence is preffered but not essential, as transport possibly needed between schools and off-site activities is part of the role.

You’ll be supporting pupils with a wide variety of SEN needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication challenges, sensory needs, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. Every day is different, and the right Support Worker will find the role both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

We’re looking for a Support Worker who:

  • Experienced Support worker with children/Adults
  • Is calm, patient, and adaptable to different settings and pupil needs

  • Holds a full UK driving licence and can safely transport pupils

  • Has experience in SEN, SEMH, care, or youth work (or a strong interest in working in these areas)

  • Understands that behaviour is communication and adapts their approach accordingly

  • Builds trust quickly and maintains consistency for the pupils they support

  • Works well alongside teachers, TAs, therapists, and pastoral staff

  • Can manage challenging situations professionally and safely

  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

  • Wants a long-term role where their support really matters

About the Role

  • Full-time, long-term Support Worker role across varied SEN schools

  • Supporting pupils with a broad range of needs, including communication, learning, sensory, and SEMH challenges

  • Driving pupils to and from school, appointments, or off-site activities

  • Providing 1:1 support, small group support, and general classroom assistance

  • Helping pupils with emotional regulation, independence, routines, and engagement

  • Working closely with teaching staff and wider multidisciplinary teams

  • Making a lasting difference to pupils’ confidence, learning, and wellbeing

The role begins on a temporary contract, with a strong opportunity to become permanent for the right Support Worker.

Why This Role?

  • Work across a range of schools and SEN settings, gaining varied experience

  • Supportive leadership and a collaborative, friendly staff team

  • Access to ongoing training and development in SEN, SEMH, and behaviour support

  • A role where consistency, reliability, and empathy are genuinely valued

  • Long-term stability with a meaningful, rewarding day-to-day impact

If you’re a Support Worker who can drive, loves variety, and wants a long-term role supporting pupils with diverse SEN needs, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact [email protected] or call:01792 804500
