Vision for Education are recruiting for an Early Years (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to work in a reception class at a local primary school located in Lancaster. PART-TIME (MON-WED), 9:00-15:30, £11-£13 p/hour

About the role

This position is set to begin in September 2022, working part time to support pupils with Phonics, offering early intervention groups. The school would ideally like an experienced Teaching Assistant, who has outstanding knowledge of teaching the Read, Write, Inc, Phonics Programme. The successful candidate will be approachable and nurturing towards the pupils and their learning and have a professional approach to all school aspects.

The successful Early Years (EYFS) Teaching Assistant will be working with the reception team of a teacher and one other teaching assistant so being able to work as a team is important.

About the school

This is an average sized school located in central Lancaster. The Head Teacher aims to support all pupils towards becoming curious, resilient, and independent learners who develop a love for learning. The class is a large EYFS Reception class of 31 pupils with a couple of children in the class requiring additional support. The school has a large outdoor provision which is used where possible to aid development.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Early Years Teaching Assistant you will:
  • Recent experience working within a primary school
  • Must hold a minimum of a level 2 in a childcare qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working within a reception class preferred
  • Flexibility where required

Salary

£11 to £13 per hour

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Experience in a primary school setting
