Vision for Education are looking to find a DT Technician to work at a local Secure Unit. Are you experienced working with young people, have a passion for Design and Technology and would like a career within a specialist education setting?
About the role
The role of DT Technician would involve 1:1 supporting of students throughout both DT lessons and other classes, assisting with day to day running of the workshop and potentially leading sessions as you become more experienced. The school require someone committed and eager to learn as this will become a permanent role for the right candidate, with room for career progression.

The school is part of a 12 bed residential setting for students who have committed crimes and are awaiting or have been sentenced. Whilst the students can exhibit challenging behaviours, the school has a structured behaviour policy and clear expectations, providing support and understanding for all the staff. Requirements
- Have experience working with young people, ideally experience with students with SEMH needs
- Have referenceable experience working with children under the age of 16.
- Have or be willing to have an enhanced DBS check on the update service
- Have experience or passion for Design and Technology such as woodworking, metal working and spray painting

Salary
£80 to £100 per day
- Relevant qualifications and experience.
