Vision for Education are recruiting a SEND / SEMH Behaviour Mentor to work across specialist school settings in the Corsham area, supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is caring, resilient and motivated, whether you are new to education or looking to build further experience in SEND and SEMH settings.
About the role
• Working as a SEND / SEMH Behaviour Mentor supporting pupils who need structure, guidance and positive relationships
• Supporting children and young people with needs including ASC ADHD SEMH learning difficulties and complex needs
• Helping pupils manage behaviour, emotions and daily routines
• Building trust and consistency to help pupils engage with education
• Working closely with teachers and wider support teams
• Agency role offering flexible short term and long term placements
• Full time opportunities available during term time
Training and support
• No previous school experience required
• Fully funded training in SEND behaviour management safeguarding and related areas
• Paid, hands on experience in specialist settings
• Ongoing CPD and support from a dedicated consultant
About you
• Patient calm and non judgemental
• Passionate about supporting children and young people
• Comfortable working with challenging behaviour
• Experience in care youth work coaching or similar is helpful but not essential
• Willing to complete training and an enhanced DBS check
• Able to provide suitable references
