Vision for Education is seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to work in a specialist school in Rotherham on a full time long term basis.

About the role

This role will be working on a 1:1 basis with young people who are disengaged from education, may have undiagnosed SEN, or are going through the referral process for EHCP’s. These students are from the ages of 6 to 16 years old and require a supportive and nurturing approach.

The successful candidate will not only look to build positive relationships with the young people but also support in general curriculum, through creative and versatile approaches.

This is a full time long term role, which will continue until the end of the academic year.

The schools specialises in the education and support of young people of primary and secondary age, who have social emotional and mental health needs.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Behaviour Mentor you will:
  • • Have previous experience supporting young people with SEMH
  • • Ideally have an enhanced DBS which is registered to the update service or be willing to complete one
  • • Ideally be able to drive and have own transport is desirable but not essential
  • • Have suitable qualifications to work with young people and support students with SEND, this is highly desirable but not essential
  • • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly built rapport with students
  • • Be able to work as part of a team and be confident dealing with behavioural challenges
  • • Team Teach Level 2 is highly desirable but not essential

Salary

£400 to £450 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • minimum of 3 months relevant experience working with children, young people or adults.
