About the role

Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to work within a college environment, supporting students with autism to achieve their academic and personal goals. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in young people’s lives.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with autism
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum and developing independent learning skills
  • Support emotional regulation, social interaction, and communication needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external professionals
  • Implement personalised support plans and strategies tailored to individual needs
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of student development
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

The Setting –

  • A college-based setting, providing a highly nurturing, structured environment where each pupil receives tailored teaching, support, and care designed to help them thrive
  • Encouraging each student to reach their full potential – academically, socially, emotionally by tailoring to individual strengths and needs as required


About you:

To be considered for the Autism Support Specialist role, you will:

Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.

Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students

Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
