Additional Needs Support Assistant

We are seeking an Additional Needs Support Assistant to work within a specialist setting in the Rowde area. The role involves providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including PMLD, SLD, autism and ADHD.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will support pupils with learning, routines and emotional regulation, helping them feel safe, understood and ready to engage with their school day.

You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to follow personalised strategies and adapt your approach to meet the needs of each child you support.

This role would suit someone who

  • Has experience supporting children with additional or neurodiverse needs, or a strong interest in this area
  • Is calm, patient and confident supporting pupils who may find school challenging
  • Understands the importance of routine, clear boundaries and positive reinforcement
  • Can support emotional regulation, sensory needs and engagement with learning
  • Works well as part of a team and takes guidance from school staff
  • Has experience in personal care and manual handling - not essential but preffered

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Supporting pupils from ages 4-19
• Full time, term time only
• Based in Rowde
