About the role
1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEND Support | Primary & Secondary Schools | Bath
We are recruiting enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 SEND support in welcoming primary and secondary schools across Bath. These roles are typically linked to individual pupils and offer the opportunity to play a vital role in their learning, communication, and emotional development.
You’ll be joining nurturing, inclusive schools that value teamwork, high expectations, and pupil wellbeing. Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, you will deliver tailored support across 1:1, small group, and whole-class settings, adapting your approach to meet each pupil’s needs.
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, ideally in a primary, secondary, or specialist setting

Understand a range of SEND, including communication and interaction needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties

Be resilient, proactive, and confident in delivering structured, targeted support
-
Enjoy building strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
-
Be organised, enthusiastic, and child-centred
-
Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative school team
Role requirements:

Term-time only (including INSET days)

Temporary roles, often linked to pupil funding

Start date: ASAP or flexible

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
