About the role

Are you passionate about transforming lives and supporting students who thrive best in a personalised and nurturing environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join an outstanding Alternative Provision in Hornchurch on a temp to perm basis!

This role supports pupils who benefit from tailored educational approaches beyond mainstream school. You’ll play a vital part in helping young people reconnect with learning, build confidence and reach their potential.

About the Provision

This alternative provision academy is part of a respected trust supporting learners aged 11–16 with a range of needs. The academy was rated Good overall by Ofsted, with positive outcomes for behaviour, personal development and quality of education — reflecting a supportive and effective approach to helping young people re-engage with education.


Role Responsibilities – SEN LSA

As an SEN LSA, you will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to individual pupils requiring tailored interventions

  • Support pupils’ access to learning and classroom activities with patience and consistency

  • Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour support and positive engagement

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO and pastoral staff to adapt resources and strategies

  • Help foster a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

⭐ Communicates effectively with pupils and colleagues
