Talented pupils and those who go above and beyond will be given their moment in the spotlight at South Tyneside's annual Unsung Hero Awards.
As sponsor and organiser, Vision for Education is on the look-out for nominations for the awards, which recognise the dedication, hard work and achievements of pupils at school, college or in the South Tyneside community.
All participating schools and colleges will select a winner to go through to the Unsung Hero celebration evening at The Customs House in South Shields at 6.30pm on Thursday 6th July. It will be a spectacular evening, with each school also nominating their own entertainment act to perform alongside the awards.
Gareth Gaston, Vision for Education's Northern Regional Director, said: “I am incredibly excited that we are once again hosting and sponsoring the Unsung Hero Awards and South Tyneside's Got Talent celebration evening - it's always an incredibly uplifting and motivating event. Last year, as ever, the breadth of talent across South Tyneside was phenomenal, and our Unsung Heroes, once again, went above and beyond outside of the classroom to show what positive role models they are. I can’t wait to hear the inspirational stories and watch this year's talented young people.
"We know that it means so much to every single nominee just to be put forward for this award. Entering someone for an Unsung Hero Award is about showing them their commitment and determination is recognised – and very much appreciated."
So, what are you waiting for! If you know a pupil who deserves an Unsung Hero Award, you can nominate them today via our online form or pick up a nomination form from the reception of a participating school or college. The closing date for nominations is Monday 1st May 2023.
