Discover Manchester

A vibrant, lively and inclusive city – Manchester has something for everyone. Manchester came to life through the industrial revolution, producing and distributing most of the world’s cotton and textiles for around 100 years. Through this time the city grew at a rapid rate, developing a strong working class and thriving local hub.

Walking around the streets of Manchester, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in history. Exploring distribution warehouses turned apartment buildings, shelters from the war down random side streets, peaceful gardens that were previously church yards and bustling shopping hubs.

Whilst visiting or living in the city, we’d highly recommend going on one of the free walking tours on offer. It’s a great way to familiarise yourself with the city and at the same time learn more about its history. You’ll find out about Alan Turing (you might have seen The Imitation Game) who lived and worked in Manchester, you’ll discover Manchester’s vibrant cultural scene and contribution to music history, the birthplace of the suffragette movement, and you’ll see the city’s strong connection to Pride and the LGBTQI+ community.

At present, Manchester is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, with cranes lining the city and new buildings going up left, right and centre. A great mix of old with the new, culture and history, inclusivity, and individuality. Manchester has a lot to offer!
