A fantastic opportunity to work with disengaged young people in education in the Mansfield area is available from September 2022.

About the role

The role of Youth Support Worker will involve you working with a number of students on a one to one basis, who have been permanently or temporarily been excluded from the mainstream setting. The young people you will be supporting are disengaged from education and therefore a creative and versatile approach is essential to have in this role. In addition to this, the successful person will have a car and business insurance, as transporting students to a variety of vocational settings is required.

A Grade C in maths and English GCSE or equivalent is essential.

This is an Alternative Provision that specialises in providing education to young people who are disengaged from education and are not attending a mainstream school.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Youth Support Worker you will:
  • • Be able to provide a reference to cover a 6 week period of experience in a relevant setting
  • • Grade C in maths and English GCSE or equivalent is essential
  • • Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable
  • • Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions
  • • MUST have own vehicle and full UK driving license - business insurance will also be required
  • • An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to apply for one
  • • The ability to work on initiative and proactively
  • • The desire to work with young people with special educational needs

Salary

£13,000 to £14,000 per year

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • 6 weeks referenceable experience within a relevant setting
