About the role
The successful applicant will have had previous experience in dealing with challenging behaviours and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will engage on a 1:1 as well as group-based environment alongside a qualified teacher in a classroom setting with pupils who may have ODD, ADHA, EBD and Dyslexia. The role will be based with young people in KS3 - KS4 and some pupils may have substance missus and involvement with social care. This role is perfect if you are looking to make a positive change in a young person’s life and build on your experience, skills and knowledge with children who have addition educational needs.
About the school
A ‘Good' specialist SEND provision in Chesterfield are looking to appoint a Youth Support Worker to work full time with pupils in a pupil referral unit (PRU). This role will be based on a site in the Chesterfield area and will educate children who have been excluded from mainstream schools. The Youth Support Worker will support vulnerable learners who are not in full time mainstream education through different learning activities and materials.
Requirements
- • Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children
- • Experience of working with pupils with SEND
- • A passion for the progress of SEND primary and secondary school pupils.
- • An ability to work as part of a team.
- • Experience working with behaviours that challenge
- • Must have basic Maths and English function skill set.
- • Team Teach Level 2 trained desired, or willingness to undertake the course free of charge through us!
- • Must have a driving licence and car.

£470 to £490 per week
