The School and Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Year 1 Class Teacher & Maths Lead to join a supportive primary academy in Hastings. This full-time role combines leading a Year 1 class with a school-wide responsibility for driving excellence in mathematics across all key stages.

As a Year 1 teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across the curriculum, creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. As Maths Lead, you will develop and implement strategies to raise attainment in mathematics, support colleagues with planning and assessment, and monitor the progress of pupils across the school.

You will be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking staff team committed to ensuring every child achieves their potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Strong experience teaching in KS1, preferably Year 1

• Proven expertise and passion for mathematics teaching

• Experience in a leadership or curriculum coordination role (desirable)

• A creative, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to teaching

• Excellent classroom management, communication, and teamwork skills

• Commitment to supporting pupils’ academic and personal development
