Welsh Medium Trainee Teaching Assistants to cover within the Foundation Phase classes of primary schools within Swansea

About the role

Are you looking to start a career in Early Years Education? Are you passionate about supporting children within the Foundation Phase through the medium of Welsh?

Vision For Education are excited to provide this incredible opportunity as a Welsh Medium Trainee Teaching Assistant, no previous experience or qualifications required, just a love for helping others! We work alongside our Welsh Medium client schools within the Swansea area on a supply basis to provide successful Trainee Teaching Assistants with high quality training and paid on the job experience with Foundation Phase Departments.

About the role:

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support children in Foundation Phase classrooms under the direction of the class teacher. The role can vary from each school, and you may be required to run small group interventions or working 1:1 with a child to ensure their needs are being met. You will be supporting children between the ages of 3-7 years.

Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we will work to secure you paid placements in a school to further develop your skills. We will help you to develop your identity as an educator and help you to choose your specialist area within the Foundation Phase.

  • Can speak and write confidently through the medium of Welsh.
  • Be kind, caring and compassionate.
  • Be proactive and a good communicator.
  • Be able to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Be committed to completing the required training and participating in ongoing CPD.
  • Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.
