Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time | Temp to Perm | Immediate Start

We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking SEN secondary school that is expanding over the next 12 months – creating exciting opportunities for dedicated individuals ready to begin a rewarding career in the classroom.
The Role:
• Full-time position within a specialist SEN secondary school
• Supporting students with a range of needs, including:
o ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) – including non-verbal students
o SLD / MLD (Severe & Moderate Learning Difficulties)
o PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties)
• Working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support and meaningful learning experiences
• Encouraging independence, communication, and social development
• Gaining hands-on classroom experience with full support and guidance

✅ What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with young people or adults with additional needs (e.g. care, support work, youth work, residential settings)
• A genuine passion for SEN and a desire to build a long-term career in education
• A positive, proactive and resilient attitude
• Someone who is hands-on, willing to learn and ready to fully immerse themselves in school life
Desirable (but not essential):
• Experience supporting individuals with ASC, SLD/MLD or PMLD
• Experience with personal care
• Moving and handling training
• Knowledge of alternative communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC)
