As a cover supervisor you would be in charge of a class of around 8 - 15 pupils with SEN. Your role would mean you were in charge of the class and make sure everyone in the room are safe and the classroom is running efficiently.
About the role
You will be working with pupils who have been transferred from a mainstream school. The children you will be working with may be at the school for a short or long length of time. This is decided by the personal need of that student. For a small number, these will be shorter placements. For many a much longer placement is required because of the profound need of the students. You will be working towards the children’s educational development along with settling them into the school and working alongside the other members of staff. You will be working with a range of pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
