A fantastic opportunity in an SEND school in Doncaster, has arisen for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start work asap on a full time basis long term supply basis.

About the role

This role involves supporting young people from the ages of 3 to 16+ years old who have a range of SEND including but not limited to SLD, PMLD, Visual and Hearing impairments, sensory needs and speech and language difficulties.

Nearly all students at this school will require moving and handing and the use of wheelchairs and hoists, therefore it is essential that the successful candidate either has completed this training within the last 12 months OR is happy for Vision for Education to put you through this training. There will also be an element of personal care involved and this is something that the successful candidate will need to be comfortable with.

This is a full time long term role that will be on Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 3.45pm and will be starting asap.

They have an extremely warm, caring and nurturing approach to the students that they support and this will need to be something that is also imbedded in your personal work approach and ethos.

Catering for students form the ages of 3 to 16+ years old, ideally you will be comfortable supporting a range of ages and abilities.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs) you will:
  • Have your in date moving and handling certificate or be willing to complete this free of charge
  • Having PEG feeding training and experience is highly desirable, however not essential
  • Have experience supporting children and young adults with a range of different learning needs and abilities – PMLD, SLD, Global Delay, VI, HI, sensory needs
  • Ideally have your own transport or close public transport links
  • Be available from Monday to Friday each week from ASAP
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team, have a nurturing and caring nature and a genuine desire to make a difference

Salary

£350 to £400 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • At least 3 months experience supporting similar SEND
