The School and Role:

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Teaching Assistant 2 / Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Lewes. This role may be full-time or part-time, combining classroom support with lunchtime supervision, and is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils throughout the school day.

As a Teaching Assistant 2, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning in the classroom, work with small groups and individual pupils, and help deliver targeted interventions. As an MDSA, you will supervise pupils during lunch breaks, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour in the dining hall and on the playground.

The school promotes a positive, inclusive learning environment and values teamwork, strong relationships, and a child-centred approach. You will be joining a friendly staff team committed to providing high-quality education and pastoral care.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting

• A patient, caring, and flexible approach

• The ability to support learning across the primary curriculum

• Confidence managing behaviour in a calm and positive manner

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (desirable but not essential)
