About the role

Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (KS1 & KS2) – Full Time
Location: Tameside – Ashton area (OL6)
Pay: £450–£500 per week (depending on experience/qualifications)
Start Date: April 2026 | Long-term position

Vision for Education is looking for a friendly and reliable full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in the Ashton area of Tameside (OL6). The school is rated Good by Ofsted and is known for its supportive leadership team, well-organised classrooms, and positive atmosphere for both staff and pupils.

You will be joining a school that values teamwork and provides clear routines and support for staff. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an active role in helping them learn, take part in lessons, and feel confident in school. The role is full time and long term, starting in April 2026, with the chance to build experience in a stable and supportive setting.

This position would suit someone who has worked in a primary school before, or has a TA qualification, and is keen to make a real difference in the classroom each day.

What you’ll do

  • Support the teacher during lessons and daily classroom activities.

  • Work with pupils one-to-one or in small groups.

  • Help children who need extra support, including those with SEN.

  • Assist with reading, writing, and maths tasks.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working with children in a primary school.

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

  • Good communication skills.

  • A patient, caring approach and a genuine interest in supporting children.

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.

What Vision for Education offer

  • As a valued employee of Vision for Education, you will receive:
  • Excellent daily rates paid weekly by our in-house Payroll team using the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system.
  • Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability and qualifying criteria).
  • Pension contributions (subject to a qualifying period).
  • Full compliance with AWR (Agency Workers’ Regulations), to make sure you get the pay and working conditions you are entitled to.
  • FREE training to help with your professional development such as Team Teach training, online webinars and safeguarding and child protection updates.
  • Generous refer a friend or colleague bonus scheme.
  • Access to a dedicated consultant, who will provide ongoing support.
